C1. THE CLASS WITHOUT WALLS !
Hello friends,
My name is Magoti Abel Masota, currently I am studying bachelor of pharmaceutical sciences at Tianjin university, China. I was born, raised and schooled to high school in Tanzania before making a move to pursue higher education in China. I am passionate about the power of science and technology and it's impact it has on human being and sustaining human existence. I love chemistry and particularly fascinated by how molecular chemistry “run the world”, in doing so it’s not surprising that I devote a decent amount of time in my undergraduate studies to have joined the molecular design and organic synthesis laboratory of Prof. Jianhui Huang (http://huang.tju.edu.cn/index.htm)
"The class without walls" is a platform where I spend my time besides academics and other hobbies; hiking, jogging, hyper-realistic artworks, and football (a Manchester united and Yanga fan). I love talking to strangers that have made me to realize how wonderful human beings are in diverse experiences and thinking. Simply put, the class without walls fosters learning and building knowledge outside of academics (although some topics may involve academics). In this process the most important thing is building responsible knowledgeable individuals (including myself), that means to have ultimate responsibility to the knowledge that we have and gain along the way.
Conventional classes are well characterized by the presence of teachers, curricula (dictating style and scope of the study), examinations, and in worst scenario a one way communication, a teacher to student style, “half-duplex”. By contrast, the class without walls has no syllabus, teacher, or examinations, rather through observing, questioning, evaluating, and discussions on phenomena that matters. Furthermore, as we venture down the roads of our lives, we travel, observe, learn, experience new horizons, and have stories. Therefore, I would like to use this platform to share my stories and lessons learned along the way as a part of the class without walls.
At the the class without walls, we believe having knowledge is having responsibility of turning ideas into action either by sharing to other people who need it or by putting it into action that somehow will make world better. Therefore, I would like to welcome authors or any idea that will benefit humanity. it is worth nothing that even if you are not confident enough in writing your idea, please don't hesitate to reach out to me by email given below. I will be happy to be educated, corrected and hear other people's point of view. Shortly said, I welcome your opinions, ideas and questions over the chatbox. Unless it’s necessary, I am available at masotamagoti@gmail.com.
Let's become knowledgeable, better and responsible individuals !
Your fellow student in the class without walls,
Masota, M.A.
